Obituary

Sarah "Rose" (Storm) Huff, 88 of Hanover passed away peacefully at Transitions Healthcare in Gettysburg on Monday, November 3, 2025.  She was the beloved wife of the late James E. "Bimps" Huff who passed away on August 7, 1994.

Born November 22, 1936 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late John and Mildred (Becker) Storm.

Mrs. Huff is fondly remembered as caring, giving person who was always willing to help anyone in any way she could.  Her generosity also extended to animals, especially cats, and she sheltered and cared for many during her life.  Additionally, she enjoyed yard sale adventures with her family.  She also had quite the "green thumb", and enjoyed spending her time tending her vegetable garden and planting beautiful flowers.  During her activities, she always made time to also enjoy a Pepsi, her favorite beverage.

Sarah is survived by her daughter, Brenda L. "Beanie" Rutledge (Thomas) of Hanover; six grandchildren: Angie Fairchild of Hanover, Michael Fetterman of Hanover, Chad Huff (Leah) of Manton, MI, Brandy Emrick (Rick) of Waynesboro, Tim Huff of New Oxford and Joe Huff of New Oxford; her brother, Fred Storm (the late Joyce), her daughter-in law, Alice Huff (wife of Sarah's late son, Scott), as well as many loving great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Scott Huff, her daughter, Deb Huff, her son, Vernon "Butch" Huff, as well as three siblings: Jim Storm, Mary Baker and Frank Storm.

A funeral service to celebrate Sarah's life will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, November 11th at Wetzel Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc; 549 Carlisle St. in Hanover with Funeral Director Vernon R. Lohn III officiating.  Interment will follow in Marburg Memorial Gardens in Hanover.  A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will also be on Tuesday at the funeral home from 12 noon until the start of the service.
