Obituary

Sharon A. Bish, 81, Hanover, PA, died October 3,2024, at Genesis Gettysburg
Center where she had been staying since February. She was born at her family home on
George Street in Hanover on August 29,1943, a daughter of Oscar G.A. Bish and Mary
Evelyn Clapsaddle Bish.

Sharon was baptized April 9,1944, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church at its original
location at 107 Carlisle Street, Hanover.

Sharon was head bookkeeper at the former Farmers Bank & Trust Co. and for
over thirty years was office manager at Hanover Candy and Tobacco Supplies.
Always an avid reader, Sharon was interested in genealogy and was a member of
Adams County Historical Society, enjoying their monthly meetings. She was an
enthusiastic member of Eichelberger High School, Class of 1961, being involved with
their reunions and with the school's Alumni Association. Also, she had volunteered in
the Pennsylvania Room of Hanover's Public Library and at the Hanover Area Council of
Churches'PAL program and their clothing bank.

Sharon is survived by her siblings: Allan (Carol) Bish, Robert (Jane) Bish, all of
Hanover; Wayne (Diana) Bish, North Charleston, S.C.; and Wendy Bish-McGrew (John
McGrew), Hanover; several nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren; six
cousins; and two special neighbors: James Smith and Loretta Smith.
Her ashes were buried in the family plot at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, with
her pastor, Kirk Griffin, officiating.
