Shirley A. Barnhart, 75, of Hanover, passed peacefully on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Hanover Hall.  She was the wife, for 57 years, of Albert M. Barnhart, Sr. who passed away April 4, 2013.

Born January 11, 1943 in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late Kathleen (Lawyer) Goodermuth and the late Dale C. and Anne Goodermuth.

Shirley was employed for 27 years with Hanover Foods retiring in 1997.  She enjoyed shopping for antiques, camping with her husband and family and attending Paradisus Church of God, Abbottstown. Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and also loved her pet dog "Jake".

Shirley is survived by her children; Diana Barnhart and her life partner Pam of Hanover, Albert Barnhart, Jr. and his wife Sharon of Hanover, Gary Barnhart and his fiancee Clare of New Oxford, Cindy Barnhart and her partner Tom of New Oxford, Robin Fidler and her husband Steve of Westminster, MD and her grandson Chad Barnhart of New Oxford who she raised like a son; also survived by her brother, Ricky Goodermuth of Fairfield; 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.  Shirley was preceded in death by her daughter Karen Barnhart, her son, John Barnhart and her half-sister, Barb Morin.

A service to celebrate the life of Shirley Barnhart will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, PA with Rev. Richard Chronister officiating.  A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Friday from 6 to 8pm  and again on Saturday from 10am until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Burial will be in York Road Cemetery, Hanover.
