Shirley Ann Wright, 76, a lifetime resident of Hanover, PA died unexpectedly on January 9, 2022.  Her lifelong partner, Eugene Almanza passed away on February 13, 2019.  They shared over 40 years together.

Born in 1945, Shirley was one of 8 children born to the late Gloyd A. Wright and Elizabeth R. (Miller) Wright.

Raised in Hanover, PA, Shirley was retired from Conewago Elementary School.  Prior to that, she was employed by Freeman Shoe in Hanover, PA

Shirley was a born again Christian and truly believed God's Word.  She enjoyed many activities but was especially fond of being around family and friends.  She welcomed and accepted everyone and was loved so much by all.  She had a great passion for yard sales, going to community shops and collecting recipes and cookbooks.  She loved cookouts and picnics so much that she'd have them in the winter time.  Shirley loved animals as well, and loved each one.

Surviving is her sister, Rose (Wright) Horner (husband Rodney), her brothers Edward (wife Patricia) Wright of Hanover and Joseph (wife Patricia) Wright also of Hanover, PA.  She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews, great grand nephews and niece, and a great-great nephew.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Philip Wright, Larry Wright, Eugene Wright and Lawrence Wright

Shirley had an amazing personality and was such a wonderful person.  She will be forever missed.

A memorial service will be planned at a later date.  Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory in Hanover, PA.
