Stephen Ronald Chalk, Sr., 72, of Littlestown, PA, passed away Monday February 3, 2025.
Born May 29, 1952, in North Tonawanda, NY, Stephen was the son of the late Donald F. and Lucille C. (Wrobleski) Chalk. Stephen was the husband of Cathie Chalk with whom he shared many years together.
Stephen was a self-employed business owner and general contractor for over 35 years, proudly operating Chalk's Painting and Home Improvement. He was an avid hunter and fisherman in his free time. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially teaching them to fish and hunt. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, lovingly referred to by his grandchildren as "Pop" or "Pop Pop".
In addition to his wife, Cathie, Stephen leaves behind 3 children; daughters, Katherine Chalk and wife Brandi of Hanover, Becky Ott and husband Chris of Gettysburg, and son, Stephen R. Chalk, Jr., of Sandusky, OH, and was preceded in death by son-in-law Fabian R. Good, Jr.-Chalk. Steve is also survived by 6 grandchildren; Bradley Lukens and husband Derek, Ashley Vogelsong, Bryan Lukens, Brandon Vogelsong, Caitlin Walker, and Jaiden Walker, 3 great-grandchildren; Mason Lukens, Nikolai Lukens, and Saige Hawbaker, who is expected to be arriving in May. Steve also leaves behind his siblings, Donna Koslowski of St. Louis, MO, Barbara Ford of Paw Paw, WV, David Chalk of Hanover, Theresa Chalk Eyer of Abbottstown, and Michael Chalk of Florida.
A time of sharing will be held at 1:30 PM, Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the Wetzel Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 549 Carlisle Street, Hanover, PA 17331. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. Viewings will be held from 6 to 8 PM, Friday, February 7, 2025, as well as 1 to 1:30 PM, Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the funeral home.
The family suggests that memorial contributions in Stephen's memory be made to the Adams County S.P.C.A., 11 Goldenville Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
