Steven Larry
Rudisill
Jul 28, 1953 — Jun 11, 2026
Steven Larry Rudisill, 72, of Westminster, formerly of the Hanover and Spring Grove area, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the Dove House in Westminster.
Born on July 28, 1953, in Hanover, he was the son of the late J. Francis and Geraldine E. "Deanie" (Buie) Rudisill.
Steve attended Spring Grove public schools and spent much of his life enjoying the simple things that brought him happiness. He loved being outdoors, sitting on a bench admiring nature, and especially appreciated flowers and anything he found beautiful. He enjoyed helping on the family farm, particularly mowing grass, and loved riding his bicycle until his health no longer allowed him to do so.
Steve had a joyful spirit that shined through even during difficult times. He loved life, cherished being around people, and always wanted to make others happy. He looked forward to family gatherings and enjoyed seeing and talking with everyone. He was very particular about keeping things neat and in order and possessed a strong sense of right and wrong.
Music brought Steve great happiness, and he loved watching baseball and attending games. He was also quite good at bowling and enjoyed playing skee-ball and swinging outside. He could often be found talking about one of his favorite foods, hot dogs. When he lived in Hanover, he was on a first-name basis with many patrons at the Famous Hot Weiner. He liked to collect hats and wear colorful logo shirts.
A man of faith, Steve enjoyed listening to pastors preach God's Word and especially appreciated passionate messages. He dearly loved his dog, affectionately known as his "little buddy."
For many years, Steve was lovingly cared for by his brother, James Francis Rudisill, who preceded him in death on May 25, 2025, and by his devoted sister-in-law and longtime guardian, Brenda Rudisill. Their love, support, and dedication provided him with a life filled with comfort, dignity, and happiness.
In addition to Brenda, Steve is survived by; his nieces and nephews, Tammy L. Black and her husband, Kenneth, of Westminster, Jeffrey F. Rudisill of Carthage, Mississippi, and Holly A. Amir and her husband, Jacob, of St. Petersburg, Florida. He was a proud great-uncle to Marilyn Wetzel, Cassandra Black, Jacqueline Black-Stover, Autumn Parker, Joshua Rudisill, Emily Parker, Aaron Rudisill, Michael Rudisill, Ariel Amir, and Mia Amir; and a loving great-great-uncle to Eugene Wetzel, Theodore Wetzel, Lily Pearl Parker, and Edison Wetzel. He is also survived by many loving extended family members and dear friends.
A service to celebrate the life of Steve will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026, at the Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle Street, Hanover, PA with Rev. Amy Bell officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Lischey's Church Cemetery, 5671 Lischey’s Church Road, Spring Grove, PA. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Black, Jeffrey Rudisill, Joshua Rudisill, Daniel Wetzel, Tommy Willis, and Adam Parker.
