Toney Lee Phillips, 74, of Hanover, passed peacefully on Monday, October 26, 2020. He was the loving husband of Janet (Rhodes) Phillips for 55 years.
Born November 24, 1945 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Betty Jean Davis.
Toney served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War, earning the National Defense Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hanover. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, cooking and spending time with his family. Being quite the handy man, he also liked doing housework and was a "Mr. Fix it".
In addition to his wife Janet, Mr. Phillips is survived by two children; Jenna M. Dashiell and her husband Travis of Fairfax Station, VA and Toney L. Phillips, II of Hanover; five grandsons, Andrew, Cody and Christopher Phillips and Tyler and Chase Dashiell; six siblings, Betty, Rose, Linda, Pat, Jeff and Trudy; and his brother in law, Russell Rhodes and his wife Diane of Hanover. He was preceded in death by his son, Chad Michael Phillips and brothers Willie and Daniel.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
