1. Louise Mummert, 94, of Spring Grove, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at home. She was the loving wife of Richard L. Mummert, Spring Grove. Together they shared 75 years of marriage.

Born February 18, 1924 in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Almeda Lightner.

Mrs. Mummert was raised on the family farm in Heidelberg Township and was a homemaker.  She was very proud of her Native American Heritage and enjoyed gardening and trips to Williamsburg, VA.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Rev. William G. Mummert and wife Chris, Spring Grove; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and numerous great, great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Marchio; brother, Merell Hess; sister, Betty Rhodes and great grandson, Brandon Van Horn.

A service to celebrate the life of V. Louise Mummert will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 2 PM at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover with her son Rev. William G. Mummert and Rev. Chet Joines officiating.  A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Wednesday from 1 PM until the start of the service at the funeral home.  Burial will be in St. Paul's Dubs Cemetery, Hanover.
