Violet Mae Pearce, 84, of Hanover, PA entered into Gods eternal care Thursday, November 22, 2018 at UPMC Pinnacle, Hanover.

She was born April 27, 1934 in Germantown, MD, the daughter of the late Earl Hopkins and Georgia Virginia (Burke) Gue and after the passing of her mother,Violet, at a very young age, was raised by her aunt, Janie Sier.

Violet was employed with Aneco Trousers, Hanover, PA and was a cook for many years at Twin Kiss, Taneytown, MD.  She was a member of the Piney Creek Presbyterian Church, Taneytown, MD and the Westminster Moose.  Violet enjoyed dancing, giving to others and was a very proud, loving mother and grandmother who cherished spending time with her family and friends. She was loved and will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by her children, Dana Wertz of Hanover, PA, Daryl Pearce and companion, Sandy Crowe of Taneytown, MD and Doug Pearce of Taneytown, MD; sister, Cindy Reaver of Taneytown, MD  brother, Carl Gue and wife Grace of Myersville, MD; and extended family, sister, Isabelle Vollmer and husband Paul of Dunnellon, FL; grandchildren, Chad Eyler, Maxwell Wertz, Nikolas Wertz, Alexander Wertz, Tyson Wertz, Felicia Pearce, Heather Pearce, Rachel Hahn and Robbie Bowers and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lily Gibson; brother, James Gue and son-in-law, Andrew Wertz, extended family; sisters, Edna Shipley, Pauline Burdette, and Helen Franklin.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Piney Creek Presbyterian Church, 4472 Harney Rd., Taneytown, MD with Rev. Paul Matthews officiating.  A time to visit and share memories with the family will be on Saturday from 10 AM until the start of the service at the church. Burial will be in Piney Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Taneytown, MD.
