Virginia C. "Ginny" Kirk, 84, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Homewood at Plum Creek. She was the loving wife of Robert A. "Bob" Kirk; together they would have celebrated their 63rd year of marriage on June 17th.
Born on July 28, 1939, in Columbus, Ohio, Ginny was the daughter of the late Charles R. and Alice M. (Osborne) Stockdale. Growing up in Columbus, Ginny met Bob while working at a Dairy Queen during high school. Both attended Ohio State University and married after Bob graduated. Ginny was a dedicated and loving wife who always honored the marriage vows she and Bob took.
As a mother, Ginny excelled in raising her two sons, often shouldering the responsibilities of day-to-day parenting due to Bob's work travels. Her unwavering dedication and nurturing spirit played a crucial role in shaping her sons into the successful men they are today.
Ginny is survived by her husband, Bob, and her two sons, John Charles Kirk and his wife Donna of Columbus, New Jersey, and Steven Robert Kirk and his wife Diane of Odenton, Maryland. She is also survived by three grandsons, Robert John Kirk and his wife Dominique of Bethesda, Maryland, Matthew Ryan Kirk and his wife Meghan of Hamilton, New Jersey, and Joshua Lawrence Kirk of Odenton, Maryland, as well as a great-grandson, Andre Rhys Kirk of Bethesda, Maryland. Ginny leaves behind many loving extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.
A service to celebrate the life of Virginia C. "Ginny" Kirk will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at the Grace Church of Hanover, 55 Albright Dr, Hanover, PA, with Rev. Todd Christine officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Thursday from 12 pm until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover. Pallbearers will be; Lew Waltz, Randy Miller, John Hedgepeth, Dave Concino, Dale Gordon, and Dennis Kacmarczyk .
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Church of Hanover at the address listed above.
