Vivian B. Eichelberger, 90, of Hanover, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2021 at home. She was the loving wife of Claude A. "Ike" Eichelberger who died July 2, 1997.
She was born July 31, 1930 in Taneytown, MD, the daughter of the late Daniel M. and Roxie Rebecca (Flickinger) Bair.
Mrs. Eichelberger was a seamstress with Middleburg Manufacturing, Hanover and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church (York Street), Hanover. She loved her time with family, friends and pets. A strong woman, she had a positive influence on the women in her life. She enjoyed bowling and participated in leagues and tournaments. A wonderful cook, she also enjoyed dining out. Mrs. Eichelberger was an avid gardener, enjoyed bus trips and spending time at the casinos.
She is survived by her daughter, Vera M. Grove and husband Brad, Spring Grove; sister, Doris Bollinger-Noel, Hanover; six grandchildren, James Grove, Brad Grove, Jr., Joey Camacho, Dana Morela, Steve Zinneman and Scott Zinneman; 15 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Claude A. Eichelberger, Jr., brothers, Melvin, Roger, Curvin, Richard and Daniel L. "Bud" Bair and sister Ruth Stough.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 11 AM at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St. Hanover with Rev. E. Robert Burkhart officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 from 6 to 8 PM and again on Wednesday from 10 AM until the start of the service both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover Serving as pallbearers will be James Grove, Bryan Bollinger, Scott Zinneman, Steve Zinneman, Fred Morela and Louie Camacho.
