Wilfrid "Bill" Neville Derby, III, 75, of Manchester, MD, passed peacefully on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at home surrounded by his family.  He was the loving husband of Laurie E. (LaBarre) Derby; together they shared 53 years of marriage.

Born August 22, 1946 in Cheboygan, Michigan, he was the son of the late Wilfrid Neville, II and Shirley (Auster) Derby.

Wilfrid graduated from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy in 1968 and he was a mechanical and marine engineer.  He served in the U.S. Navy and retired from the Naval Reserves on October 1, 1991.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Christopher Derby, Jacksonville, FL, Heather Krouse, Hanover, PA and Kimberly Davis and husband Derek, Westminster, MD; brothers, Steven Derby, Austin, TX and Scott Derby and wife Isa, Derby, CT; sisters, Tina Derby, Hilton Head, SC, Katherine Kruska, Louisville, KY and Lee Cook, Monroe, NC; grandchildren, Chase, Morgan, Haley, Olivia, Lauren, Tyler, Jacob, Brandon and Deanna and great grandchildren, Jackson, Laine, Freya, Savanah and one on the way.

His legacy will live on in his family, whom he loved dearly. "Fair Winds and Following Seas".

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
