Obituary

William E. Miller, 91 of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at home. He was the loving husband of Lois A. (Harmon) Miller.

Born April 8, 1931 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Elmer H., Sr. and Melva M. (Zepp) Miller.

Mr. Miller was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather; he cherished his family and love spending time with them. Bill was a lifelong member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church and worked at PH Gladfelter for 39 years, retiring in 1993 and was the owner of Miller Self Storage, BPOE #763 Hanover, Friendship Fire Company, he was Spring Grove Fire Company Life Member, ¼ Century Club at PH Gladfelter, 1303 Local Spring Grove, Historical Society of Spring Grove, York County Fireman's Association. In his free time Bill was an avid Yankee fan, collector of sports memorabilia and an avid coin collector.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Miller is survived by his children, Steven E. Miller and his wife Polly of Kill Devil Hills, NC, Karen E. Saltzgiver and her husband Daniel of Bedford, PA; grandchildren, Jessica Sheely, Derek Saltzgiver, Eric Miller; great grandchildren, Victoria Sheely, Gavin Sheely, ElliAnna Saltzgiver, Marleigh Saltzgiver and many more loving family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Miller was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Lou Miller; a brother, Elmer H. Miller, Jr. and a sister, Margaret I. Noel.

A service to celebrate the life of William E. Miller will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 30 W. Chestnut St., Hanover, PA with Rev. Faye C. Snyder officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church at the address listed above or to your favorite charity.
