Wilson "Bill" M. Tawney, Jr., 86, of Gettysburg, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 14, 2022 at Genesis Healthcare.

Born March 21, 1936 in Westminster, MD, he was a son of the late Wilson M., Sr., and Ruth M. (Bauerlein) Tawney.

Mr. Tawney was a loving father, brother and grandfather; he loved being with his family at picnics and get togethers. In his free time Bill enjoyed archery, fishing and hunting.

Bill is survived by his children, son, Wilson M. Tawney, III and his wife Karen; daughters, Sherry J. Bitzel, Kimberly J. Klein and her husband Fred, Marcenda M. Wiles and her husband Dan; a brother, Francis Tawney and his wife Linda and a sister, Shirley Fair. Bill is also survived by many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Tawney was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Denny Bitzel.

There will be no public viewing. Following cremation services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
