John S. Crowl, 86, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at home. He was the husband of Evelyn M. (Grim) Crowl for 63 years.

Born December 20, 1926 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Emory J. and Essa (Wildasin) Crowl.

Mr. Crowl was employed with Emeco Industries, formerly Metwood, and retired after 35 years of service. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

In addition to his wife, John leaves behind his son, David L. Crowl; his grandsons, Zachary and Devon; his sister, Mildred Gouker; his brother, William Crowl; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Anna Trish, Dorothy Lawyer, Frances Rodkey, and Henrietta Smeak; and his brother, Walter Crowl.

A memorial service celebrating the life of John will be held Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Missionary Bible Baptist Church, 920 Beck Mill Rd., Hanover, PA. Friends and family are invited to a reception at the church following the service.
