Born August 16, 1928 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Norman Walker and Helen E. (Brown) Walker Smith.

Surviving are her four sons, George F. Fuhrman and wife Lisa of Red Lion, Barry F. Fuhrman and wife Theo of New Port Richey, FL, David W. Barnhart and wife Wanda of Abbottstown, and Robert A. Barnhart and girlfriend Karen of Abbottstown; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and nephew, Brent Smith of Hanover.

Along with her husband and parents, Doris is predeceased by her son, Steven Barnhart; brother, Russell Walker; and sister, Shirley Bennett.

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Barnhart will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle Street, Hanover, PA with Pastor Kevin Orewiler officiating. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Monday, February 17, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm and again Tuesday from 10 am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover.
